Two teenagers charged with break-in and larceny

Two teenagers are in police custody following their arrest on charges involving break-in in and larceny. Police reports say the pair—a 19-year-old and a 17-year-old, both males of Villa Area—was arrested and jointly charged by the police on Friday with break-in and larceny.

The police have not released their identities, but have said that one lives at Bryson’s Street and the other at Piggott Street.

They are accused of breaking into a store on Redcliffe Street on 11th January 2021, and stealing a number of electronic items to include a laptop computer, mobile phones, video games, and smart watches.

They also allegedly stole several pieces of jewellery, including necklaces and rings, and an assortment of tools, along with the cash register with an undisclosed sum of money, and other valuable items.

Both men were separately charged for allegedly break-in and entering a fitness gym on Redcliffe Street on the same day, and stealing an undisclosed sum of money.

Meantime, a 19-year-old female of Golden Grove along with a 23-year-old male of Belle Street, Villa and a 24-year-old male of Buckley Line were also charged in connection with said offence.

They are accused of receiving a number of the items that were allegedly stolen. The incident occurred sometime between 11th and 13th January.

The Police have since recovered some of the items. They are expected in Court during this week
