Stability in COVID-19, no new cases

Antigua and Barbuda has attained a level of stability in its management of COVID-19 as there are only two active cases and there have been no new cases reported.

This was revealed in the most recent COVID-19 dashboard published this week.

“The most recent reports received by the Ministry of Health from the Mount St. John’s Medical Center and the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) have revealed no new laboratory confirmed COVID-19 cases in Antigua and Barbuda as of Monday 24th August 2020 at 6 pm.

Subsequent to the publication of the dashboard on Monday 24th August 2020 with the cut off time of 6 pm, ten samples were processed at the Mount St. John’s Medical Center’s (MSJMC) Laboratory which increased the pending results from twenty-two to thirty-two, said a statement from the Ministry of Health.

The health ministry explained that thirty-two (32) recent samples taken yielded negative results.

With these latest figures, the total number of persons who have had laboratory confirmed COVID-19 cases in Antigua and Barbuda stands at ninety-four with two active cases remaining. So far, one thousand eight hundred and fifteen (1815) persons have been tested for COVID-19.

There are currently twenty-seven (27) persons in government quarantine centres with ninety-three (93) persons in self-quarantine.
