MP Asot Michael suspended from Parliament for unbecoming behaviour in the House

Member of Parliament for St. Peter Asot Michael was asked to leave the Lower House this morning, September 25, on account of behaviour that was deemed unbecoming by a member of the House.

Michael is alleged to have cursed at the Speaker of the House, Sir Gerald Watt, and also the MP for Barbuda, Trevor Walker.

Reportedly, he was suspended from sittings of the House of Representatives until the Parliamentary Privileges Committee, which is now mandated under the new proceedings, is put into place.
