Chester Hughes won’t be among UPP candidates next election but no love lost

Chester Hughes will not be contesting the next elections, Opposition Leader Jamale Pringle has announced.

Pringle dismissed reports that there is animosity between Hughes and the United Progressive Party.

“Chester is OK, from discussions I have with him recently, two days ago. Chester is comfortable that the party is of greater importance and being a founding member, he can understand and maneuver around whatever it is,” Pringle said.

“So, critics will always have something to say. Some of them are trying to derail the forward movement of the organization but I’m comfortable that we’re not going to be derailed by anyone, and my brother Chester Hughes is in a good spirit and in a good place.”
